University Electives and High School Groups

Group educational experiences can be individually structured for classes of high school, healthcare, business or teaching students. This can provide an excellent way for students to learn about the social determinants of health and how they influence the health and well-being of individuals and communities. Two sample schedules are attached (high school and nursing classes), but the experiences can be individually tailored to the needs of the particular group interested. Please inquire if you are interested.

Previous Groups Hosted:

St. Lawerence College, Ontario, Canada

In 2015 we hosted a group of nursing students from St. Lawrence College (SLC), a Canadian college that offered a Cross Cultural International Nursing elective course. The three week course was designed with the purpose to learn about Social Determinants of Health. The college is planning to return in 2016 with a new group of students.

National College of Natural Medicine, Portland, Oregon, USA

In 2015 we hosted faculty and students from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR, USA. Over the course of one week the faculty participated in an exploratory learning experience while providing students with context in the area of international global health.
